Contents Career[] Carlson was raised in , and attended the in . In addition to her acting career, she has also modeled, including the advertisement campaigns for , , and sunglasses. She appeared in the August 2004 issue of and on the cover of the October 2004 issue of .

Carlson is the spokesperson for , a Minnesota-based organization that provides and related health care services to impoverished children and young adults in . An enthusiastic since age seven, Carlson lobbied a bill to prevent both inhumane transport of American horses to slaughterhouses in and Canada as well as roundups of wild horses by government authorities in January 2010.

Carlson started out in theater, performing in productions of Vanities, Cheaters, Girls Guide to Chaos, , and Can't Trust the Mate. In 2001, she also appeared as an extra in the film . In 2003, she booked a guest role in the pilot episode of the drama series Nip/Tuck. Her character, Kimber Henry, quickly became popular with audiences, and she appeared in several episodes of the first and second seasons, eventually becoming a regular in the show's , she remain with the series until it wrapped up production in March 2010.

Outside of Nip/Tuck, she has appeared in several feature films, including (2004), (2006), the sequel (2004), and a supporting role in the comedy film (2008) alongside and . She has also made guest spots on , , , , and . She is now working on her first project as a producer.

She was initially cast in the 2007 silly film Dead of Winter (later retitled ) alongside and , but was replaced by former turned actress before filming began, due to creative differences with the director. After completing work on the final episodes of Nip/Tuck in 2009, Carlson segued into a recurring role on sequel of , playing a Hollywood madam. She also had a short appearance in the 2009 Canadian television film . She can next be seen in Ghostfacers, an online spin-off of dark fantasy series .

In 2001, Carlson was listed on Tear Sheet Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful list. She was also listed at #43 on magazine's Hot 100 of 2005 list ranked at #41, and ranked at #94 on their Hot 100 of 2007 list.

And the 44-year-old star was 'upset' when she was cut from the popular series, she admitted during an Instagram Live interview this week.

'I do. Yeah, that's my ego a little bit. But I don't think Ryan would do that.

She had a thriving career as a blonde bombshell in Hollywood for a decade.

But around 2010 the siren up and left the business, which not many actors do, and she has no regrets, the star said.

During the video the beauty, who still looks incredible with her signature short blonde hair, reveals why she made the move from Los Angeles to San Diego.

'Nothing bad happened or anything like that. I loved it, loved my life up there,' said the star who often posed for pinup images for Maxim magazine.

'Why am I not acting? Not for any reason, really. Just that we live far away,' began the actress, who still looks every inch a pinup star.

'I need to be in L.A. and we're not for my husband's work, which is down — he's in the Navy, so we're way down in southern San Diego. And that's kind of it.'

Her spouse is Dan Stanchfield, whom she wed in a private ceremony with only a few of their close friends and family members.

Kelly added that Dan is 'the star of the family' and she serves in a way as his manager.

He also works as a 'survival instructor.' He was with Kelly during the interview and confirmed that she does in fact help him.

'It was just a decision, right, so that's all,' said Carlson.

The star also said there is a chance she could return to performing.

'Maybe I'll go back one day, I don't know,' she said.

'I'm open. I'm kind of a free spirit. I kind of am, and I'm kind of not. But I'm always up for new experiences.

The film is listed as having a 2020 release date.
