(CNN)Broadway actor Nick Cordero's health is going "downhill," his wife revealed Wednesday in a tearful update.

Cordero, 41, has battled a series of since he was hospitalized in March. He spent weeks on a ventilator and clotting. Earlier this week, his wife, Amanda Kloots, a "small win" in his recovery. But his she said, asking fans for their prayers during an Instagram Live stream. "Nick has had a bad morning," she said. Cordero, 41, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles since March with -related complications. He spent weeks on a ventilator and had to have his leg amputated because of issues with blood clots.

“So one of the things that I have learned about this whole process is the land of the ICU is one step forward, two steps back,” Amanda Kloots said in a ..

“I’m happy to say that it looks like that we’re on a step forward again,” she said.

“It’s been a roller coaster but this one goes out to the doctors and nurses at Cedars-Sinai,” Kloots said. “The power of prayer. And the power of energy and support and posivitity is, I’m sorry, in my opinion, insurmountable.”

“For the last 24 hours we have prayed hard. And a prayer of, not ‘why,’ and not ‘this can’t happen,’ but prayer of ‘thank you’ and prayer of ‘faith’ and prayer of ‘thy will be done’,” she said. “And that is to me something that I will never understand but I believe.”

She said the prayers and positivity kept her going since Wednesday when she posted that her

On April 24, Kloots announced via Instagram that Cordero had received a temporary pacemaker for his heart. On May 1, 2020, his wife reported that he had major lung damage, including "holes in his lungs," and he had a successful tracheostomy tube placed. CNN reported that Cordero had still not regained consciousness after being taken off of sedation. On May 5, 2020, Cordero's wife reported he had a "rocky night" and doctors had to take him into surgery, after his oxygen levels fell too low, to perform "a lung scraping to get rid of some more infection". On May 13, 2020, it was reported that Cordero had regained consciousness.
